Thank you for your support
The third Hull Global Food Festival sponsored by Hull BID was once again a great success. With more stalls and exhibitors than ever before, a new Family and Education marquee (sponsored by Hull City Council and Hull NHS) and Food Innovation marquee (supported by Business Link Yorkshire, UKTI and Deliciously Yorkshire), there really was something for everyone.
Antony Worrall Thompson was an entertaining and obviously highly skilled chef who promoted Yorkshire seafood and also made his own version of Yorkshire puddings to the delight of the crowd.
He also judged two competitions, the Copper Saucepan Award for the Apprentice Chef of the Year was awarded to Shane Tate from the Lairgate Hotel and the Northern Favourites competition, organised by Northern Rail was judged by Antony Worrall Thompson to be Humber Fish Stew suggested by Zoe Waller and cooked by Steve Murfield from Revolution.
Winning the Hull Global Food Fest’s own version of Ready, Steady Cook, called Dash Out, Dish Up was Martin Andrews (chef at Cooks Endeavour) and Jo Morton from the House of Light, the support agency for mothers with Postnatal Depression. Coming a very close second was Lisa Bentley- Group Co-ordinator Downright Special lead by Jason Rowe from Beverley restaurant Dine on the Rowe.
Over 250 children made their own pizza with healthy toppings and we are still waiting to find out how many people visited the festival as a whole.
Thank you to sponsors, exhibitors, chefs, staff and visitors – without you this event would not be possible.
